MARIA BOROCHOV - KREPLACH

Ingredients:

Dough:
two cups of flour
two eggs
one cup of water
a pinch of salt

Filling:
meat
onion
salt
pepper
For veggies:
pumpkin
onion
salt
pepper
sugar
Or whatever mixture you want

Preparation:

Make the dough soft. Flatten it thin and cut into large circles (8cm in diameter). Chop the meat and onion, place them in a bowl and add salt and pepper. Put a handful of the blend on a circle of dough, fold it in two and close the open half-circle with a pinch. Repeat with the rest of the kreplach.
Cook in a steaming pot for 45 minutes after the steaming water begin to boil.

To make it veggie, chop the pumpkin and onion and add a bit of salt, black pepper and a little sugar. If you want to combine both kinds and help your guests make out the difference, you can close the kreplach to make different shapes.
